‘Tis the season where employee’s minds sink under the pressures of the holidays.

Personal agendas could take a back seat to business because retail product marketers. Consumer services like hair and nail salons become busy, too. For a few weeks, the public is blitzed with

marketing messages.

At no other time are marketing messages so intensely disbursed than the last two months of the year. What are those images racing past your eyes each day doing to your subconscious? When will you reach your tipping point?

How do you compete during the gift-giving season?

Here are 7 tips to help you navigate through the boxes and bows, from no-cost to the most-cost.

1.Change the color of your headline font, and/or change your headline font. The change will be subtle enough to stand out as new without interrupting the branding you’ve accomplished.
2.Colorize your subheads the same as your headline. Be particular about the subheads you use. If possible, use keywords. Not only will the subheads stand out, the eye will tend to pick up the headline and subheads as a mini-article.
3.Use a block quote within your post. A block quote indents and enhances a few words of text; so, make it an important few words.
4.Initiate more frequent, shorter posts just for a brief time. Tell your readers this is what you are doing and when you will stop doing so. It’s not nice to make a change like this without communicating.
5.Add relevant, eye-catching images to your blog post. Whether conceptual or journalistic, images grab attention and draw one’s eye toward content. If you source an image, it can often be used for free (always check with the source for permission). Otherwise, great stock photo companies house a plethora of choices at about $3.00 per image.
6.Take a survey. Connect with your audience in a way that engages them and influences them to respond. Make it something they care about, and make it memorable. State your intentions and follow-through.
7.Offer an incentive. A sweepstakes, contest or discount can be as small or large as you choose. Why not relate it to your business? Training sessions, conference admissions, books and ebooks are fine ideas.
