Hmmm…In case you didn’t know, Valentine’s Day often came with hard pastel heart-shaped candies. And f you have ever read the letters on those candy hearts, you’ve probably seen H2H. For those under the age of 35, in romantic lingo, that means heart-to-heart.

Heart-icon

Though the phrase may be passé, H2H isn’t without meaning to inbound marketing.

Old school processes divided the marketing world into two segments: Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C). The two segments necessitated a different marketing message because the objectives differed. In fact, technically, they still do.

While the two segments haven’t aligned to a single purpose, the ideology behind the terminology H2H has evolved to accommodate the transparency and purpose encompassed by social media. That is. . .relationships.

So, in a sense, though H2H really is about relationships, the new term’s scope is just a bit more clinical but widespread.

Inbound marketing’s new buzz word is H2H or Human-to-Human.

Maybe you’ve already heard it.

If you haven’t, you likely will hear it a lot. It doesn’t make every day Valentine’s Day, but the “day-name” is a good mnemonic to remember relationships come first in your marketing.
