Ladies. . .put on your best outfit and apply your makeup perfectly. How do you feel? Lovely?

Now, men. . .don that crisp white pima cotton shirt, slip on that finely tailored navy suit. How do you feel? Looking good?

So is Pinterest.

It is a beautiful place to hang out while you connect and share with others who appreciate beauty.  All kinds of beauty.

Pinterest is a visual powerhouse (and can be addicting) for growing branding for your staffing firm.

In case you haven’t had the chance to get lost in Pinterest, here’s what you can expect. Once you establish an account, you create online boards (visual collages) that represent topics of interest to you. Over time, you “pin” images and videos to your boards. Others on the site then find your items and act on what they see by deciding to repin, like or comment on your board.

To date, tens of millions of unique users spend about 15 minutes on average per day on Pinterest.

Shouldn’t you add a Pinterest account to your inbound marketing strategy? Here’s four reasons to help you decide:

1. Pinterest connects with your Facebook and Twitter accounts to help you gain followers and build your exposure. The connection places social media icons under your Pinterest profile picture that link to your Facebook and Twitter profiles. So, when you create your account, make your presence visually enticing and consistent with your business’ image/ identity.

2. Feature your business name in your profile. Pinterest allows you to include your URL with a paragraph about who you are and what interests you. It’s a cool way for others to find out more about you and your values. Plus, it’s a fun way for your staffing firm to maintain transparency, and we all know how important that is in today’s marketplace.

3.Maximize your exposure by pinning items often, and tag other user’s pins by using “@username” in your descriptions (not many users are doing this yet, so it’s a real tip.) Don’t forget that you can pin videos, too. Since there are fewer videos than images, use them to distinguish yourself. These actions build your following.

4.Use brief keyword descriptions with what you pin because the descriptions stay with the image as it gets repinned. Mix your pins with “repins” (sort of like “retweeting” on Twitter). By doing so, you help others increase their following. Reciprocation adds value for you and the user whose pin you tagged.

Sounds like fun, right? Well, branding for staffing firms should be fun.
